Accommodation

Gaia sleeps up to four people. It is a beautiful spacious house with polished wood floors enhanced by the sunlight streaming into the rooms. The outside has decking all around.

To stay with us there is no need to lug heavy camping gear as offer self catering accommodation with the beautifully designed 'Gaia' - a hand-built wooden house providing all the comforts of home. Gaia is an eco friendly modern home running all its amenities on solar poer; it is also surprisingly spacious with two double bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen/diner, lounge and large balcony. Build within 160 acres of natural bush land and surrounded by tall gum trees, with the picturesque De Mole River flowing through, this is the perfect place to wind down.

Visiting Gaia you will feel as though you have discovered your own secret wonderland in the heart of the Australian bush. Guests are welcome as part of the family and are inevitably visited by the roos, birds and possums - nature really is on your doorstep here. This truly is the holiday of a lifetime and a fantastic way to discover Kangaroo Island for yourselves.

Inside

Step into a comfortable open plan area with high ceilings, tall patio doors and big windows maximising natural light and giving a wonderful feeling of space.

Kitchen/Dining: fully equipped, with plenty of work space, the kitchen contains a gas hob, oven, fridge/freezer, utensils, crockery, glasses, pots and pans, plus dining table and chairs.

Lounge: contains two comfy sofas, coffee table and basic furniture. A CD player / radio is provided enabling you to relax and listen to your favouite tunes. The highlight is the modern free standing wood fire, perfect to keep warm and cosy on those cooler KI nights (firewood is provided).

Phone: there is a land line for local calls only, which can also accept all incoming calls. In cases of emergency Graham's phone next door is available. Note: Gaia does not have mobile phone reception, internet connection or television.

Bedrooms: there are two double bedrooms one with Queen-sized bed, the other King-sized which can be separated into two single beds. Each room has its own outside terrace. Bed linen, blankets and towels are provided. A couple of steps lead you to the bedrooms.

Bathroom: in between the bedrooms is a spacious bathroom with WC, sink and shower.

Outside

The house is positioned up high and the decking at the front forms a big balcony overlooking the bush and the creek. It is equipped with a large covered gas BBQ, table and chairs.

This is the perfect spot to enjoy an evening sundowner, or an early morning coffee. It's also popular with the locals - birds, possums, wallabies and kangaroos!
